My Dataiku Core Designer Certificate experience
I started with the Dataiku provided Learning Path on the Dataiku Academy website. The Learning path is provided based on the certification that you want to apply. The first certification to get started is the Core Designer Certification.
The Learning path provides recommended courses and additional optional courses that you would find helpful for completing the certification.
For the Core Designer Certification, I completed the recommended courses - Basics 101, Basics 102 and Basics 103. The courses had short videos to explain the concepts, quiz for each module inside the course and hands-on exercise for each module/course.
Basics 101 covered the following key topics:
Dataiku Value proposition
Dataiku - Data Science Studio (DSS) overview
Importing the Datasets
Exploratory Data Analysis and statistical tools in DSS
Basics 102 covered the following key topics:
Data Transformation using Recipes
Data Cleaning, Merging and Grouping
Computation
Jobs and logs
Basics 103 covered the following key topics:
Data Enrichment by joining datasets
Experimentation using Lab
Flow and orchestration for production use cases
The Core Designer Certification exam has 2 components
Hands-on Exercise
Users are given 3 datasets to upload
Perform the exercise based on the hand book provided
Implement the ingestion, cleaning and visualization
MCQ test - 2 parts
Questions based on the exercise
Questions based on concepts explained in the learning courses
Overall, I found the certification process very interesting as it has hands-on as well as conceptual learning. The DSS platform has a free 14 day trial version which makes it possible to complete the certification and learning for free. Overall my experience with Dataiku has been amazing and would recommend the course for anyone interested in exploring Dataiku.
